In February of 2008 the Boroughs of East Bangor and Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania passed a resolution reconizing the contributions made to their communities by people of Cornish decent. In reconigintion, they declared the first week in March as Cornish Heritage Week with the Cornish flag
flown below the flag of the United States in both boroughs for the first week of March.
March 1, 2008 1:00PM, Pen Argyl Pennsylvania - A Cream Tea to celebrate St. Piran's Day and the start of Cornish Heritage. The Tea is open to the public and will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 404 East Mountain Avenue, Pen Argyl. Doors will open at 1:00PM and the Tea starts at 2:00PM with a snow date of March 22th. There are 110 tickets available and you can purchase tickets by sending a check made out to Penkernewek for $10.00 for each ticket along with your phone number to Harry Bray, 301 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl, PA 18072. Tickets purchased in advance will be held at the door but no unpaid tickets will be reserved. All unpurchased tickets will be available for purchase at the door the day of the event.

September 20 9:00AM - Noon, Chapmans Quarries United Methodist Church, Chapmans, PA - Cornish Cooking Class - How to make pasties and the history of the pasty. This event is open to the public but registration is required. Cost is $4.00 per person.

November 15 1:00PM, Grace United Methodist Church, Pen Argyl - Holiday Tea - We start the Holiday Season with a Cornish High Tea. Doors open at 1:00PM and the Teas will begin at 2:00 promptly.
